CAUSES AND TRIGGERS
Sooner or later most people identify migraine triggers and therefore don’t need to record them. In the majority of people triggers include:
• Skipping meals / dehydration
• Altered sleep pattern / sleep deprivation
• Reduction in stress from one day to the next
• Fluctuating hormone levels (e.g. Oestrogen in women)
Some triggers are less obvious and probably only occur in the minority of people:
• Changes in weather
• Certain foods and drinks
Although interesting – this information is unlikely to guide a Healthcare Professional.
Life is simply too short! Food diaries are generally not useful in the majority of people with migraine!
