CAUSES AND TRIGGERS
Sooner or later most people identify migraine triggers and therefore don’t need to record them. In the majority of people triggers include:
Skipping meals / dehydration
Altered sleep pattern / sleep deprivation
Reduction in stress from one day to the next
Fluctuating hormone levels (e.g. Oestrogen in women)
Some triggers are less obvious and probably only occur in the minority of people:
Changes in weather
Certain foods and drinks
Although interesting – this information is unlikely to guide a Healthcare Professional.
Life is simply too short! Food diaries are generally not useful in the majority of people with migraine!
